NMAAHC

A few weekends ago our friend Shami had somehow secured a block of coveted tickets to the National Museum of African American History and Culture.   We seriously thought we wouldn't be getting in until sometime in 2020.  Honestly, I have almost no words to describe the experience.

Our son opted to attend a friend's birthday party instead of accompanying us.  I'm not sure if I'm disappointed that he didn't share in this with us, or if I'm relieved that he didn't have to see me nearly constantly in tears or I didn't have to try to somehow explain racial inequality and social injustice to him.
