Season's Greenings

Always one of my favorite holiday happenings in the DC area, the train display at the US Botanic Gardens.  I've been bringing Joseph since he was just a toddler.    There's just something incredibly special about seeing our nation's capital recreated in all plants and natural materials.

In the model train area, Thomas and Friends are still around, but their setting changes from year to year.  This year's exhibit celebrated the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service and the 50th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act, so the trains loop around recreations of many historic places and national parks.

Plus a big, beautiful tree in the West Gallery!

I love that Joseph has developed an interest in taking pictures.  Maybe it's his way of not having to pose for me all the time!
