Universal Studios & The Grand Floridian

We spent our 2nd day in Florida "off property," as they say, but I'll get back to that later.  After that we were back for another full Disney day and night, this time at the Hollywood Studios theme park.

The big draw for many people is everything related to Star Wars, but Joseph has never really gotten into the franchise.  Still, the life size AT-AT and real live Stormtroopers policing the area were pretty darn cool.  As expected, Joseph absolutely loved the Star Tours 3D motion-simulated space flight ride.  There should be tons more photos and videos here, but hard as I tried, I just could not convince the kid to sign up for Jedi training.

We lucked into a last minute entrance to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular.  Most people might have complained of having to stand way in the back, but the view was great, and Joseph was perfectly content having distance from the action, with his fingers in his ears the majority of the time.

And then we were back at night again after dinner for the Fantasmic water show.  Very cool how they project images onto a wall of water mist, but I never quite captured a good pic.  On our walk out of the park we lucked into seeing the Star Wars Galactic Spectacular fireworks show, all set to Star Wars music.

Since I didn't take too many pictures at Hollywood Studios, I thought I'd throw in a few of where we stayed, at The Grand Floridian resort and spa.  We had a lagoon view, beautiful both night and day.  We were right on the Monorail line, and there was also a nice path to walk along the water all the way to the Polynesian Village.
