The Fire Ice Dragons

Basketball season has come to a close, but Joseph's team, the Fire Ice Dragons (a name of their own choosing), made it to the semi-finals!

I still think it's hysterical how much taller Joseph is compared to his teammates!

This was his first venture into the sport, and it was a delight to see how excited he was about it.  I think he got the most out of the drills and skills with the coaches before each game.  He can actually make a basket but definitely needs to work on his form.

He even touched the ball a few times during the game!

Joseph is a force to be reckoned with on defense.

That's him on the ground fighting for the ball in the above picture.  But this is his usual position, far away from the action, a few steps behind in understanding where he should be and what he should be doing.  Certainly whatever he may currently lack in skill he surely makes up for with enthusiasm.

The game was tied and went into double overtime before the Fire Ice Dragons ultimately lost 37 to 40.  You can clearly see this kid Jack did not handle the loss well, but our number 18 was happy just to have been involved.  He is genuinely just a "good sport."
