Our table was perfect, but JT and his cousins were literally right. on. the. court. This was his first year joining us, and I think being that close to the action has sparked a bigger interest in the sport in Joseph. Leyton & Ash were over the moon and it just blew their minds to be in on this. The free tennis racquets all the kids got didn't hurt.
Me, I'm still a little on the fence about tennis. Instead of #refusetolose I'm a bit more #refusetocare. But the pretty cheerleader was super nice and gave me a t-shirt.
Afterwards all the kids got to meet all the pros and they got tennis balls signed by everyone. We didn't get to see Martina Hingus or either of the Williams sisters play, but there on the end is Leander Paes, and he's supposed to be kind of a big deal. At least that's what Mimi must have been thinking when she jumped in his lap, kissed him, and took a selfie.
After this amazingly fun day and night, from the Building Museum to the top of the Washington Monument and on to the World Tennis Match, Leyton and Ashton had the best day ever, and ares rue to want to come back for Joseph's birthday every year. I better start planning now!
