They had me at "Hola."

I most certainly have never been to a more luxurious resort in my life!  Our friend Maia had been to the Rosewood Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen with her girlfriends last year, and returned telling Brent that this place was right up his alley.  What doesn't sound good about an oasis on the Riviera Maya?!  The two of them have been plotting a trip there ever since, and it became the destination for our families this year for Spring Break.

From the moment they picked us up at the airport in a Cadillac Escalade, gave us cool towels for our faces, took our drink order to have ready for arrival, and said "welcome home," we knew we were in for the vacation of a lifetime.  In the car they had cold bottles of water and juice boxes, bags of chocolates, offered up cold Mexican beers, and had a stuffed bear for each child.  It made us forget all about our 2 hour flight delay and immediately get into vacation mode.

The complimentary welcome drinks at dinner didn't hurt either.

Our accommodations were a luxurious lagoon studio suite with a private dock in the back.  They typically take you to your suite by boat, but since we arrived after dark we had to miss this one amenity.  In the room was a bowl of fresh fruit with a welcome message, a complimentary bottle of tequila for us to enjoy or bring home, a backpack of kids gear for the beach, and every night there was a new handcrafted toy for each kid.

Every suite has a patio with a private, heated plunge pool, a giant bathroom, indoor and outdoor rain showers, and a private rooftop sun deck.

We did actually leave the suite, and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous as well!  Lush, tropical, and incredibly serene, whether it was day or night.

Don't even get me started on the pool and the beach.

We were so fortunate to have this as our home away from home for 5 days.  Much more to follow....
