Fair Trade

Mention the word "Spring" around DC and all everyone can do is obsess over when our beloved cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin are going to be at peak bloom.  (Guilty as charged.)  This year the peak happened to coincide with a trip we planned for Spring break, so the only blossoms we got to see up close and personal were on the sweet little tree in our back yard and on the big beautiful tree of our next door neighbor.

It's the 1st time in ages that I've completely missed the peak bloom, but it's hard to be too sad about it when we were trading it all in for the sunny skies of Mexico.  We've now returned from a fantastic trip with our neighbors to Playa del Carmen!  Other than our flight leaving 2 hours late due to technical issues, travel was so easy with multiple kids to entertain each other.  (That, and electronics.)

As depressing as it was to leave our little slice of heaven, the trip back was just as easy.  The kids even got to meet the pilot and sit in the cockpit on our return flight!
