Publishing Party

All the families in 2nd grade were invited to school last week to celebrate the publishing of our budding authors' latest works.  The students were paired off and had to write a biography of another classmate.  They interviewed each other on various topics such as early life, family, favorites, and best & worst experiences.  Not only were they the authors, but they were also the illustrators as well.

Joseph was paired with Timothy, immortalized now as "Timothy the Cooly."  There's much to learn about him!  Joseph read his biography to us, and then we went around the room reading everyone else's books.  Each child had a paper for guests to write compliments.

We eventually found Timothy's book on "The Amazing Joseph."  I hope you click on each picture so you can read Timothy's text.  It's fascinating!

You may recognize that there is a little bit of fiction in Timothy's work.  Joseph was not born in 2006.  Or in the middle of the night.  Or at Sibley Hospital.  And his grandparents don't live in Brooklyn, and our house isn't white.  I doubt that was Timothy's fault!

It's so sweet that Joseph still talks about Jeffrey so much, and how adorable are Timothy's drawings of Tiger Stadium and the roller coaster at Hershey Park?!  I am not quite sure what was so bad about getting his adenoids out when he was 3 years old, but all in all, it's a good read.  I knew it before reading his biography, but Joseph really is amazing!
