Joseph with Joseph

The national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was playing at the Kennedy Center, and we thought it was the perfect show to see with our own Joseph.  (Plus it was starring 2 American Idol alumni from back in the days when I actually watched it, Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo!)  Funky foot issue aside, we went ahead and saw the show shortly after our trip to the ER that morning.  At one point we got him a wheelchair, but Joseph preferred to hobble along the majority of the time.

We all loved the show, and it's been hard not to belt out "Go go go Joseph!" at every turn.  We had also planned to walk around the city at night, showing Mimi the national Christmas tree and treating her to dinner at Old Ebbitt Grill, but after a lot of whining and moaning during a pitstop at the Willard, we decided it was too much for Joseph in his condition.

Speaking of which, he seemed to be a lot better after 24 hours on antibiotics, but there hasn't been much change since then.  The poor thing still absolutely refuses to stand or walk, so we also had to cancel our plans to cohost the 2nd annual New Year's Rave.  Looks like we're ringing in the new year on our own, with echoes of the other Joseph in our heads:

Go, go, go Joseph you know what they say
Hang on now Joseph you'll make it some day
Don't give up Joseph fight till you drop
We've read the book and you come at on top
