A Beachy 4th

Ethan's family had plans to spend the 4th of July weekend in Rehoboth and asked if we wanted in on the beach action.  We headed out after work on Thursday night just as major storms were rolling in.  Surprisingly the traffic wasn't too terrible, even though the horizon looked pretty ominous as we crossed over the Bay Bridge.

Friday morning was still rainy and overcast, so we spent the morning outlet shopping (along with 4 million other people) while we waited for the skies to clear.   It was pretty decent soon after lunch, so we all hit the beach.

Joseph and Ethan both brought along a sampling of knights and dragons to play with in the sand castles they built.

Brent and Lisa played some games, and I spontaneously joined in when Ethan's grandfather started doing some core exercises.  Hopefully the trainer I've been working with recently would be pleased with my form!

We had a great dinner at a place called Papa Grande's before heading over to a dessert party at Lisa's parents' friends' house.  They had a 3rd floor deck where we could watch the sun set, play with sparklers, and see fireworks in the distance.  So sweet of them to include us.  It wound up being a gorgeous day for a holiday at the beach!
