On the 6

That's a J. Lo reference.  Too obscure?  "On the 6" is the title of Jennifer Lopez's debut album, referring to the subway line she used to ride to work between Manhattan and the Bronx.  We however, were headed to Brooklyn, but that's just how my mind works.  Turned out Joseph had no issues with the noise level this time around, and we took the subway everywhere.

Next stop: Brooklyn Bridge.  I've always wanted to walk across it!  Especially since the first "Sex and the City" movie, where Miranda and Steve meet in the middle.  Sorry, waaaay too many pop culture references here.

The bridge itself is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the country, and it spans the East River, connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn.  The main span is 1595.5 feet, less than 1/3 of a mile, so it was an easy walk across and back on the pedestrian and bike path, which is on top of the vehicle lanes.  Very cool cloud line hanging just above the cityscape on the way into Brooklyn.

Very different colors and textures when we turned around and walked back.

And an view of the city crossing back to Manhattan.

After that it was time to head home, so were off to Penn Station, where Joseph promptly spiked a fever.  He had to miss the next 2 days of school, but at least it didn't spoil our vacation.
