Our elementary school utilizes a fun and interesting positive reinforcement technique, rewarding individuals and/or classes with "Paw Prints" for exemplary behavior. (I suppose the paw print itself only makes sense in the context that our school mascot is a jaguar.) The kids are so proud of themselves when they are noted for being kind, respectful, helpful, patient, or anything else the teachers and staff feel is worthy. Classes can also be acknowledged for being well behaved as a group as well. When our class recently accumulated 15 paw prints, they were rewarded with a pajama and stuffed animal party!
Janney takes these paw prints seriously, and there was even an entire school wide celebration last year when the student body accrued 1000 paw prints!
