We all were ready for a treat once school finally ended, so we took the last week of June off and spent a few days in historic Williamsburg, VA with Ethan's family.  We stayed at Kingsmill, a beautiful resort, golf course and spa, and lucked out with a ground floor room facing the James River.  Joseph especially loved welcoming the ducks to our deck day and night.

The River Pool was quite a draw for the kids - sprinklers, lazy river, and a water slide the boys went down about a bazillion times.

Although we didn't do any boating activities, there's also a lovely marina we explored around sunset one evening, killing time catching fireflies before bedtime.

And then, of course, were the continual shuttles to two very popular local attractions.
