Bedford Springs

Brent is a never ending resource for ideas and inspiration for the many road trips and vacations we take.  He read an article in the Washington Post about Bedford Springs and filed it away, ultimately planning a long weekend getaway for us last week.

The Omni Bedford Springs Resort is tucked away in the Allegheny Mountains, in south central Pennsylvania's Cumberland Valley.  Its mineral springs were historically known for their healing properties and "became famed as a mecca of rejuvenation."  The property underwent a massive $120 million renovation and expansion in 2007.  Simply stated, it. is. beautiful!

Every guest room has a balcony with rocking chairs and a panoramic view of the mountains.  There is both a heated mineral spring-fed pool and a gorgeous outdoor pool.  There are hiking trails, a spa, a golf course, even on site trout fishing!

As always, Joseph takes the opposite approach to vacationing.  Instead of sleeping in and savoring lazy days, he is up with chickens and ready to roll.  But I must admit, it was lovely to see the sun rising and the fog lifting on our first morning there.  I don't know where he gets the energy!

More adventures to follow!
