Simple Science

Since school was out for Spring break last week, we had a lot of time to kill.  A lot.  So I said "Why not?" one day when Joseph asked if we could do an activity he found in one of the hundred magazines my mom subscribes to for him.  (Hmm, was it High Five?  Turtle?  Lady Bug?  They all run together.)

This particular activity was a science experiment that involved mixing up solutions of water with soap and vinegar with salt to see which would better clean up old, dull pennies.

I won't keep you in suspense: it was the vinegar and salt that did the trick.  In less than 10 seconds.  It took us longer to set up and clean up than the whole experiment itself.  But hey, science is fun!
