Orleans and more

It was good fortune that our friends who have family that live on the Cape had planned a visit with them the exact same week we were traveling to the Cape. They graciously invited us for lunch mid-week at their gorgeous house in Orleans, on the "elbow" of Cape Cod, just 45 minutes from our house in Ptown. Before lunch we spent a little time at Crystal Lake with the kids. Their daughter Cella was flying high while their daughter Jackie (recipient of my latest quilt) was laying low.

I didn't take any pics of the house this trip, but I love the lavender lined path leading down to the beach. We dug for clams there on our last visit and this time found an intact horseshoe crab shell that we brought back to Wyatt for his "collection" of beach treasures like shells, rocks and crab claws.

On the drive back to Provincetown we stopped, explored, shopped and ate at a few other notable towns along Route 6 like Wellfleet and Truro. Dinner at Blackfish was amazing!

I think this last view of the seemingly endless beach beneath the sandy cliffs of the National Seashore (at Marconi beach) was one of my absolute favorites!
