The Performing Arts

We all got to experience a little culture this weekend. On Saturday we caught a riveting performance of "A Year with Frog and Toad" at Adventure Theatre in Glen Echo Park based on the book series by Arnold Lobel. Joe Joe just adores these books and we read several of the short stories to him every day.

It was really quite fun to see the books brought to life with the scenery and songs. Definitely need to see if I can download a soundtrack from somewhere and need to see what shows are in the works.

The night before, however, was the real treat for me and Missy as we finally got to see the NKOTBSB concert we've been waiting for for the past 6 months. If you'll recall, tickets to the concert were my present to Missy for her 40th birthday back in December, brilliantly suggested by her husband Matt.

We met for cocktails (yummy pomegranite margaritas) at Rosa Mexicano pre-concert and could barely contain our excitement! We tried to post on Facebook throughout the night but sometimes the connections were frustratingly slow....

These "boys" DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT!!! The energy at Verizon Center was palpable. They worked their butts off for hours and had everyone screaming their heads off and dancing the entire time. I've already tortured people enough with pics and video on Facebook, so here's just 1 of the Backstreet Boys (still upset Kevin didn't join in on the tour)

and 1 of the New Kids On The Block. Joey McIntyre all grown up.....delish!

We saw Frog and Toad several years ago and loved it! You can get the soundtrack. We downloaded it from iTunes. It always cracks me up when my iPod will shuffle from grown up music to "The Snail With the Mail."
