I love a parade!

I never did post much about Mardi Gras, did I? Here's a little recap. You know it's all about the parades.

Great fun to watch all the floats go by, see the beads flying through the air, and share in the excitement, especially with the kids.

I don't think Leyton's feet ever touched the ground!

The parades go on for hours so we get to spend lots of quality time with family.

Here's a small sampling of 1 night's loot that the kids caught. In addition to beads they throw all kinds of different things like footballs, frisbees, stuffed animals....

....and a Saints bobblehead....

....dolla' bills, y'all!....

....sugar, sugar, sugar....

....masks, hats, wigs, more beads....

....recycled throws....
(yes, I caught a doll from the Krewe of Tucks (Angie's ride), but not at the Tucks parade!)

....and bags of pickles and bologna....

Wait, WHAT?!
Yes, a bag of pickles and bologna. Sherrie suggested that to her friends and they followed through.

Yes, Sherrie, the bad influence that got my mom to do Jello shots. Sherrie, who sprayed the kids' hair red.

Sherrie, who introduced the kids to Silly String fights.

Sherrie, who go what she deserved!!!

Well, enough about parades, right? I'll leave you with one of my favorite pictures from the trip, when the parades were all over and the streets were spotless. You'd almost never know Mardi Gras happened,

until you look UP!
