One of the things we'd been promising Joseph before our trip was that he was going to see the biggest trees he would probably ever see in his life in the redwood forest in Marin. So our 1st order of business was to head out to here:
They say some of these trees are nearly 250 feet tall and 1000 years old!
You know, they serve a pretty good lunch there too. These adorable little chipmunks were running around everywhere trying to find some snacks.
The "monument" was named after John Muir, the naturalist who helped to establish the National Park system. He said, "This is the best tree lover's monument that could be found in all the forests of the world." Someone agrees:
