Down, and out

...but clearly not in Beverly Hills.

We wouldn't need the down if we were out in Beverly Hills!
It's been 38 degrees here forever, and sometimes you just need to get out of the house to run an errand.

The Lunch Bunch

Missy and I are keeping up our weekly playdates, and they just naturally fall around lunchtime. We decided to walk to a neighborhood cafe for some grown-up food, but the junior lunch bunch was happy to munch on each other's toys.

Today our buddy Jack turned 9 months, but 7 month old Joseph seems to have taken the lead in the height department.

It is winter here, so when we went for our walk, Joseph got bundled up in this adorable hat and sweater our friend Elisabeth's mom made for him. And people laugh when I say I want to learn to knit - look what you can make!!

Joseph at 7 months

The time keeps flying by, and Joseph continues to amaze us!

At 7 months, he's only able to sit for a minute before toppling over, yet he's desperately trying to crawl. He can get up on all fours, but then he squirms and scootches and rolls like a maniac until he finally makes it to where he wants to go.

More consonants have appeared, and we now hear babbles with "baba," "dada," and "mama," but sadly for Brent, no "papa."

So far he has loved every fruit and vegetable we've introduced, and he's learning to drink from a sippy cup.

He sleeps through the night from 9pm to 7am about half the time (usually when Papa is on duty), and the other half just needs some love (for like, an HOUR sometimes) to get back to sleep when Daddy is responsible.

We are so lucky that Joseph is such a sweet, wonderful, adorable, little boy!

Tag, you're it!

Interesting: despite all the bells and whistles on this activity center, the thing Joseph is most fascinated by on it, as well as on all the other toys he has, is the darn the point where he is literally bending over backwards to get it.

Even more interesting: he has almost no desire to play with a "Taggie," an ingenious invention that is just a small blanket with tags sewn all the way around it. Perhaps that's too much of a good thing.

It's good to see his determination and willingness to "think outside the box" to get what he wants! What a smart cookie!

Equal Opportunity

Rumor has it that there may be a few people in Louisiana that prefer college football over pro football (can't imagine who they are!). Having given the Giants his support, Joseph is now decked out in his finest LSU gear to give the Tigers equal screen time. They did win the National Championship, after all!!

Good Luck Charm

Gee, who on earth should we be rooting for in the Superbowl?

Grammy and Grandpa (and the rest of New Jersey) seem to think it should be the Giants. Hope JT brings them luck!!

I wonder what we'll be doing during the game?!?!
