Hometown, Homeboy

Unfortunately last week was Brent's final week of paternity leave, and when we realized we actually had a day off together, we decided to do something as a family, and showed Joseph around his home town a little bit.

His 1st Metro ride downntown, where we introduced him to some history at the National Archives, and the fine arts at the National Gallery (we quite enjoyed the J. M. W. Turner exhibit, and I had never even heard of him before!).

WAAAAAY back there in the distance is the Capitol building. We'll reserve that tour for another time. He was about as interested in this as he was in the
Liberty Bell and King Tut.

And lastly, here's our little thug - dressed by the nanny. Who knew one could pull together such a "gansta-chic" look with clothes from LL Bean and Janie & Jack? I think the little airplane on the hat gives him extra "street cred."

But the best news of all is that now I work part-time, so I can be back at home with my baby, where I belong, and truly want to be!!!
