Green thumbs and Rosy Cheeks

So Brent tells me that, according to Gran, if you plant a baby's umbilical cord stump under a rose bush, he'll have rosy cheeks. Now, we don't have any rose bushes, so Brent, the one with the green thumb in this relationship, decided to plant it under our Japanese maple tree. (Hmmmm, what on earth would that do to him?) It's one of those things we've been meaning to do since it fell off when he was 3 weeks old, but it took until October to actually get it done. Lucky for us the weather has been so mild.

We're hoping that Joseph thrives like this tree, which we planted to celebrate our 1st anniversary in this house. And in the summer, hopefully we'll plant a special tree just for him.

MI Mi thinks that Joseph is beautiful and will have rosey cheeks no matter what type of tree his navel is planted under--that is just like we all know if he or his cousin Leyton cut themselves(which we hope never happens of course) they will bleed purple and gold--that's a gimme'--love and kisses--MiMi & poppie

Thanks for keeping your blog up. I feel like I already know little Joseph! Can't wait to meet him. He is precious! Hope his cheeks are rosy! Planting it under a japanese maple might make him speek Japanese. How about that... a bilingual baby! lots of love, Susie

I am not sure but I think that is an OSHA violation. Or at least just NASTY! If we ever visit my children are forbidden from playing in your yard.
